Yes, Easter is two months in the rearview mirror.

But don't let the name dissuade you. Cindy Marseco Beck's Italian Easter Pudding can be enjoyed any time of year.

That's why it was chosen winner of this week's Local Flavor: Recipes We Love contest, earning Mrs. Beck, of Old Forge, a $75 gift certificate from Rossi's ShurSave Market.

Anthony Calomino of West Scranton was awarded the $25 runner-up prize for his Steak and Spaghetti recipe, which can be found online at www.thetimes- tribune.com/localflavor.

Mrs. Beck sent in the recipe for Italian Easter Pudding to Local Flavor a few weeks after the holiday, but this unique treat seemed too good to pass over.

The pudding comes with a bizarre list of ingredients that makes one think the dish could either be sweet or savory. On one hand, it has vanilla, sugar, eggs, milk, butter and cinnamon. But it also has ditalini pasta ("And you have to use the ditalini pasta," Mrs. Beck said), ricotta and Parmesan cheeses, salt and pepper.
